Going into Cades Cove when it snows.

So our next journey on our little vacation was to Cades Cove.  Cades Cove is about an hour outside of Pigeon Forge. There are two ways that you can get to it when you go to Gatlinburg and take the pass right after you turn at Sugarland visitor center or you can go through wears valley and enter Townson. you’ll enter into the national park.
This is the 11 mile loop that you drive through with wildlife, old cabins, churches, you can get out go hiking, have a picnic, you can horseback ride. we have been coming here every time we come to pigeon Forge for the last 17 years. Every time we come we always see something new.
This time was the first time with snow so for one thing you want to make sure you check to see if the roads are open. Sometimes when these roads get too much snow on them, they do close them. But we caught it just right this time so we were able to drive through. You can see the waterfalls were all iced over. Even the river going beside the road was froze over in spots. As we were driving through the views were beautiful the white snow everywhere some of the snow started melting but we were able to see a few deer. The boys got out and a couple different spots.  Mom it’s cold can we please go get back in the car,  these Florida boys.
But overall this is a great place to go and see the different wildlife. Just make sure that you fill your tank up. There is on gas station in the park. Here you are going into the national park you will lose service. So it your like to hike  take a backpack to go for that hike, pack a cooler up and have a picnic. There is a picnic area with grills and bathrooms, just a heads up sometimes when the weather is bad, they do close the picnic area down as well. And halfway through the loop there is a visitor center with bathrooms so make sure you stop and take that potty break. Also, in the cove they have a campground. It is primitive camping.
So I hope when you go to Pigeon Forge you take the time out and go to Cades Cove specially if you enjoy the wildlife and wanna see the scenery.
